Kausani: Lesser Majesty of Kumaon
Travelogue Submitted By: vishnu.kumar7 on 2013-08-22

If I travel down the memory lane to the early days of my wandering life, I can only go back till Kumaon not further down. Kumaon was one of those early escapes which made me fall for the Himalayas; the ethereal mountain series which I kept exploring in different states of India, in different countries, in varied geographies but sadly I never returned back to Kumaon.

Gwaldam: Uttarakhand

40 km off Kausani, Gwaldam is a lazy town amidst apple orchards, tea gardens and lush green alpine lines. Perched on a hill overlooking pindar river, Gwaldam offers spectacular views of snow capped Himalayas. Gwaldam is a perfect place for laid-back vacations in salubrious terrain of Himalayas.

Kausani: Kumaun Uttaranchal

Picturesque hill station of Kausani is located 52 km from Almora and popularly known for breathtaking view of the snow capped peaks of Panchchuli, Nandakot, Nanda Devi, Trishul, Nanda Gunti and Chaukhamba. Amid the idyllic surroundings of pine meadows, Kausani has got plenty of resorts but does not offer a lot to those seeking isolation from milling vacationers.
