Over three lakh people, including several foreigners, visited the famous eight-day long annual cattle fair which ended on 21st Nov, an official said.
The last day also saw thousands of devotees who took a dip in the Pushkar lake on the occasion of 'Kartik Poornima'.
Ajmer collector Rajesh Yadav told to press that about three lakh people came to the Pushkar fair.
About 20,000 animals were also brought to the fair and transactions worth Rs9 crore were made this time, he said.
Pushkar (Ajmer): The swollen Pushkar Lake and the recent visit of the Obamas seems to have worked for the Pushkar Fair that is witnessing a surge in the tourist numbers this season.
Hotel owners believe the brimming lake is one of main reasons for drawing tourists to the holy city. "Last year, there was a slump in the tourist arrivals, but this time the room rates have almost doubled with enquiries still pouring in," said Deepak Sharma, a hotel owner.
