Bir- Himachal Pradesh

Nestled into the rolling mountains of Dhauladhar, Bir is small Tibetan Refugee settlement near Baijnath. Blessed with basic tourist facilities, Bir has got couple of monasteries and Institutes for meditation retreats, volunteering and study of classical Indian wisdom traditions. Nearby Billing is also a noted Paragliding site. Set against the backdrop of verdant pine forest, Bir is also surrounded by tea gardens. For long term travelers, Deer park is a nice place to participate in courses.

Palampur | Kangra Vallery

Palampur is the tea capital of northwest India. Set on the rising slopes of Kangra Valley before they merge with the Dauladhar ranges. But tea is just one aspect that makes Palampur a special resort. Abundance of water and proximity to the mountains has endowed it with mild climate. The town has derived its name from the local word "pulum', meaning lots of water.
