Dak Runner's Trail: Trekking Route Jibhi > Jalori Pass > Margi> Shilla > Kullu Sarahan > Bagi pul

Known as Dak's Runner Trail, it is a lesser known trek through the verdant dense forest. Trek offers a chance to understand the transition of vegetation with elevation. It passes through jungle of oak forest, chir pines, blue pines, deodars and other common Himalayan flora. Trekkers can stay in the forest house en route.

October sky was twinkling with full moon, taking the lead role and throwing mild light on otherwise darker road to Manali. As sun went down, we made to Mandi and still were way behind to our schedule. It was a crazy day of meticulously driving till Ambala on National Highway one where we had been penalized in the past for over speeding.

Thanks Paul for sharing your list of exotic destinations in Himalayas. The Majestic mountain series of Himalayas had always been the prime attraction for the travelers around the globe. I also traveled there significantly but I always returned back with a frowning curiosity and a desire to return back. This year, I was more inclined to explore some less traveled, lazy, laid-back, calm and pleasant destinations of Indian Himalayas.

Jibhi - Himachal Pradesh

Surrounded by thick meadows of alpine and melodious water streams, Jibhi is a small hamlet in the Banjar Valley of Himachal Pradesh... Despite of its proximity from highly busy Chandigarh-Manali highway, Jibhi is quite off the tourist trail... If you want to get lazy at serene place and up for exploring moderate treks of Himalayas then Jibhi is the best pick.... It is just so so so laid-back... loved it... you will definitely crave to stay longer and longer...
