Some places freak you out with their hauntingly quiet isolation. Some grate on your nerves with their touristy cacaphony. And then there is Sarahan. Soaked in mythology, witness to a lot of interesting history, and surrounded by verdant mountains on all sides, this little temple town is just the right mix of serenity and bustle.

Situated on the northern shore of River Ganges, Vaishali is bordered by hills of Nepal on the northern side and touches timid river of Gandak on the west. As per a legend, Vaishali was once infested with plague and when Buddha entered Vaishali, it rained heavily expunging the town from all the infections.

Kausani: Lesser Majesty of Kumaon

If I travel down the memory lane to the early days of my wandering life, I can only go back till Kumaon not further down. Kumaon was one of those early escapes which made me fall for the Himalayas; the ethereal mountain series which I kept exploring in different states of India, in different countries, in varied geographies but sadly I never returned back to Kumaon.

Somehow refraining myself to fill this article with my usual philosophical and dreamy utterance. Here is the draft version of the travel guide intended for all types of travelers to Kullu-Manali and adjoining valleys (Parvati, Banjar, Sainj etc). In order to avoid chaos, I am not including details about all the tourist attractions.

Bus approached to South Andaman and to the city from where it all started…Port Blair… I lodged into the same place and fortunately got the cheaper room… With Diglipur, pleasant weather turned to the past and I was again dealing with the humidity of Port Blair…Soon after unrolling my backpack and lime water, I headed to cellular jail which I missed during my earlier stay at Port Blair.
