After Gir National Park in Gujarat, it is the turn of Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand to re-open to visitors after the monsoon break.
Every year the Corbett National Park closes for the monsoon break from 15th June to 15th October due to bad condition of roads due to heavy rains. This year however park opened on 18th October, a delay of two days.
Brijani Gate of Corbett National Park in Dehradun has reopened to tourist after all rain damaged routes of the safari route were repaired here. Advance bookings to enter the park through Brijani gate will open later this week. Current bookings for morning and evening begin at 10 am every day.
With the recent termination of the Commonwealth Games being held in Delhi, many foreign tourists too are expected to visit Corbett National Park due to its close proximity to the national capital.
Corbett National Park is named after hunter turned conservationist Jim Corbett and is spread over Nainital and Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand. It is one of the oldest and most popular National Parks in Uttarakhand for tiger sighting.
