Day 01: Bangalore (Karnataka): City Tour

Bangalore, the capital of the Karnataka, is fifth largest city in India. The exact origin of Bangalore is not known, but it is believed that the city was founded somewhere in the 16th century. Bangalore lies at a distance of approximately 998 km from Mumbai and 562 km from Hyderabad. Situated at an altitude of approximately 920 m above sea level, it is also known as the 'Garden City of India'. The beautiful parks and gardens and tree-lined streets of Bengalooru make travel to the city a pure pleasure. The year 2000 saw the introduction of Information Technology in Bangalore and since then, the city has not looked back. It has reaped the most out of the IT Boom in India and boasts of the highest concentration of IT companies in the country. Today, Bangalore is known as 'The IT Capital of India' and "The Silicon Valley of India'. The Bangalore city is also very famous for its amazing nightlife. Some of the most happening discotheques and pubs of the country are in Bangalore, making it one of the most happening cities in India.

Day 02: Mysore (Karnataka): Around 150 KM from Bangalore

Mysore is the second biggest city in the State of Karnataka. It lies 130 km's from the State Headquarters, Bangalore. It is the erstwhile capital of the Mysore Maharajas, who ruled Mysore State from this royal city. It is now the headquarters of Mysore District with a population of over seven lakhs. The chief language of the people, as in the State of Karnataka, Kannada and original Kannada is spoken in this part of the area. It covers an area of more than 40 sq.km. and is administered by the Mysore City Corporation. Situated 763 meters above sea level surrounded by hill ranges from north to south, it is known as the 'Garden City' and the 'City of Palaces'. The famous Chamundi Hill, which is mythologically associated with the name of the city, is to its southeast.

Days 03 & 04: Ooty (Tamil Nadu): Around 150 KM from Mysore

Ooty is one of the important and Interesting Tourist spots of Tamil Nadu.  This place has very cool and chill climate in summer season so it one of the best known hill resorts of India.  The other name of Ooty is Udagamandalam.  It is also called as the “Queen of Hills Stations”.  It is located at the tri junction of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka. It is about 7500 feet above the sea level.   Ooty is endowed with extraordinary scenic beauty in the midst of NilgirisNilgiris is also called as Blue Mountain because of its misty blue clouds with peaceful ranges.
Nilgris is a beautiful mountain range which is a part of Western Ghats. Totally there are three places to visit namelyKothagiriCoonoor and Ooty. Among these three Ooty is given the primal importance because of its scenic beauty and excellent climate conditions. Nilgri Hills are older than the Great Himalayas. Like Icing on a cake Ooty adds Pride to this mountain range.

Important Attractions in Ooty

Ooty Lake, Botanical Garden, Sims Park Coonoor, Rose garden, Pykara Lake, Wax Museum & Shooting Point.

You can cover the above mentioned attractions within 02 Days. It will be difficult to travel after 06 PM in Ooty and Coonoordue to heavy mist especially during Winter and hence advice you to cover all the attractions before 06 PM.

Days 05 & 06: Kodaikanal (Tamil Nadu): Around 250 KM from Ooty

Kodaikanal is one of the very popular and most sought after Honeymoon and holiday destination hill resorts in South India. This hill station stands 7200 feet above sea level and situated in upper Palani Hills of the Western Ghat near Madurai in Tamil Nadu. Kodaikanal is also popularly known as the princes of Hill Stations.

The cool and misty weather, the scenic beauty of the rolling hills and the wooded forest of Kodaikanal and its surroundings will mesmerize any visitor throughout the year. Walk through the wooded forests, row in the lake, bath in one of the splashing waterfalls, go for horse riding and cycling around the lake or simply admire the views.

Important Attractions in Kodaikanal

Kodaikanal Lake, Chettiyar Park, Kurinji Andavar Temple, Pine Forest, Pillar Rocks, Shembaganur Museum, Guna Cave, Solar Physical Observatory & Bryant Park.

You can cover the above mentioned attractions within 02 Days. It will be difficult to travel after 06 PM in Kodaikanal due to heavy mist especially during Winter and hence advice you to cover all the attractions before 06 PM.

Day 07: Malampuzha (Palakkad, Kerala): Around 180 KM from Kodaikanal

Malampuzha Dam is the largest reservoir in Kerala, located near Palakkad in south India with the scenic hills of the Western Ghat in the background. It is a combination of a masonry dam with a length of 1,849 metres and an earthen dam with a length of 220 metres. The dam is 355 feet high and crosses the Malampuzha River, a tributary of Bharathappuzha, Kerala's second longest river. There is a network of two canal systems that serve the dam's reservoir of 42,090 hectares.
 
The dam project was begun in 1949 and completed in 1955. The total catchments area is 145 square kilometres, while the reservoir has a capacity of 8000 square meters of water. The canal systems serve to irrigate farm land while the reservoir provides drinking water to Palakkad and surrounding villages.

Important Attractions in Malampuzha

Malampuzha Dam & Reservoir, Malampuzha Garden, Lake, Boating, Rock Garden, Ropeway Ride, Western Ghat View points, Japanese Garden, Hanging Bridge, Yakshi Statue & Amusement Park
 
Day 08: Palakkad or Coimbatore Drop
 
You can also visit Palakkad Fort and Chinmaya Mission Temple in Palakkad City and also go for Shopping in Jobbys Mall, Big Bazaar etc, if time permit.
 
Malampuzha is just 10 KM away from Palakkad City.
Palakkad Junction Railway Station is just 10 KM away from Palakkad City.
Coimbatore Airport is just 55 KM away from Palakkad City.
Palakkad to Bangalore by Road is around 420 KM and my suggestion is you can avoid this unwanted journey by droping at Palakkad Junction Railway Station or Coimbatore Airport.

Of course, you can entend one more day in Mysore and hence your trip will be for 09 Days & 08 Nights.

If you have enough time, you can also extrend few more Days so that you can visit few UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Palakkad, Kerala such as Silent Valley National Park, Parambikulam Wild Life & Nelliyampathy Hills. Theses are UNESCO Sites as part of Western Ghat Regioin in Nilgiri Biosphere. You can stay 01 Night 02 Days in each attraction, depend on your  time and wish.
